CODE CRAYON, the final selection of the 7th ChangGoo Program... The short-form platform 'Shortime' is ramping up its global strategy.

Jun 17, 2025

The Korea Creative Content Agency's CKL Business Support Center tenant company CODE CRAYON (CEO Park Jeebok) has been selected as a finalist for the 'ChangGoo Program 7th Edition,' co-hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo), the Korea Startup Promotion Agency (CEO Yoo Jong-pil), and Google Play.

Recognized for its technological strength and global expansion potential, CODE CRAYON plans to aggressively target overseas markets with this selection.

The 'ChangGoo Program' is a mobile app and game startup nurturing program jointly operated by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and Google Play, which launched in 2019 and is now in its 7th edition.

In 2025, after fierce competition, a total of 100 companies were finally selected, and Codecrayon has listed its representative service 'Shortime' as a 7th edition company.

'Shortime,' which was officially launched in September 2024, secured 300,000 subscribers in over 175 countries within just five months after its launch, and the cumulative number of ad video plays has exceeded one million. In particular, it is rapidly expanding a global community, targeting women fans of K-content aged 20-35 as its core audience.

The uniqueness of 'Shortime' lies in the advancement of technology and user experience-centered design. As an AI-based global short-form content platform, it enhances its global competitiveness through a curation system focused on Korean-style content, production optimization technology utilizing user behavior data, automatic subtitle translation and recommendation systems, and server load-distributing streaming infrastructure.

Moreover, through a gamification structure, users can earn rewards while watching content, which naturally leads to a virtuous cycle model of increased platform retention time and expanded advertising revenue. Supporting subtitles in major languages worldwide is also considered a strength, enabling content consumption without borders.

CODE CRAYON has partnered with major content companies such as LINE and Danal, continuously expanding content production and global distribution channels. By actively utilizing the Google Cloud infrastructure, Google Ads marketing support, and expert mentoring provided through this Channel Program, it plans to intensify its strategies for traffic acquisition and increasing paid conversion rates in key global markets such as the United States, Japan, and Southeast Asia.

CEO Park Jeebok of CODE CRAYON stated, "Through the selection for this ChangGoo Program, we have been able to accelerate the global expansion strategy of Shortime under the systematic support of the Ministry of SMEs and Google," and added, "We will continue to grow as a platform that provides K-content experiences beloved by global fans while also offering practical and sustainable revenue models for those involved in the domestic content industry."

Meanwhile, Shortime is a short-form content platform equipped with commerce features, external video advertisements, and gaming services within the platform, offering users a differentiated content experience.

CODE CRAYON plans to use this ChangGoo Program selection as a stepping stone to further strengthen content expansion and global marketing.

The Korea Creative Content Agency provides support for up to two years, including residency support and production support facilities for content startups like 'CODE CRAYON' through the CKL Business Support Center.
